Blog Post #4

My field of study is in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. A website that I found is an organization called the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), http://www.naeyc.org/teachers/. This website is especially made for those interested in early childhood education. There is information on early childhood issues, future conferences, accreditation, and much more. There are also several local branches of this organization here in on Oahu called Hawaii Association for the Education of Young Children, http://www.hawaiiaeyc.org/.

Blog Post #2

One of the blogs that I looked at is called Cooking Chat where the blogger shares cooking recipes. Most of the comments were about how much the reader enjoyed a certain post and thanking them for sharing their thoughts and ideas. I also looked at a blog called Homemade by Jill. Jill has a lot of crafty ideas and shares them with her readers. Most of the comments were about what they liked about what she wrote, and how much they liked her ideas. The last blog I looked at is called, Wise Craft. This blog is similar to Jill’s who shares her crafts with her readers. The readers commented how much they appreciate her ideas and how much fun they’re having with it.

I think that purpose of comments on blogs is to share with the blogger what your thoughts and feelings are about what they wrote. It is a great way for giving people advice, compliments, and ideas.

Blog Post #1

My main interest is in early childhood education. It was somewhat difficult finding a blog that was interesting. I wanted to find one that would teach me some new things about the field. Luckily, I was able to find a really great blog created by a woman named Abby who is a librarian from Chicago.

In Abby’s blog, she wrote about her first experience presenting to a group of preschool teachers about early literacy. Abby wrote that through her presentation, she gave the teachers new strategies and activities that they can do with their students. She also shared how she felt during her presentation and what she would have done to improve it.

I found Abby’s blog to be helpful for those going in the education field, not necessarily just for preschool teachers, but whoever is interested in promoting early literacy to children. She even included the website (ECRR) that she got her information from which I can use in the classroom. Abby also reviewed some books and gave her insights on them. She even gives suggestions of how to use them in the classroom. It’s a very interesting website. If you are in education and need some assistance with early literacy, Abby has some great information on her website.

Hello everyone! Here is a site on copyright.

About Me

Hello...My name is Anna. I'm a college student and am majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood.

On my free time I like to get as much sleep as I can. With school, work, and all my other extracurricular activities, I don't really have a lot of free time. However, I do have lots of hobbies to help myself relax. I enjoy playing the guitar and the ukulele, although I must admit that I'm not that great at it. I also enjoy playing rock band with my family...we always have a blast with our little "band practice."

Well, that's it for now =)
